"Cityscapes" is adamantly not about the glossy tourist images of San Francisco, but rather a show by and for the people who live in and love the city. Everyday images of the city brought to life as only art can do that will help residents see San Francisco anew. The show encompasses several styles of painting and drawings with the common thread being the insider's view of the city.

Paul Madonna - The poetic, evocative drawings of Paul Madonna are familiar to many who enjoy his series "All over coffee" in the Chronicle. Paul's work was the progenitor of "San Francisco Cityscapes" show. His beautifully crafted pen and ink drawings beg to be seen in their original form.

Larry Morace - Larry is a well-known and respected San Francisco painter who has been extensively exhibited. His large, loose brushstrokes startle with their expressiveness and ability to convey information. His paintings have a liquid energy that pulls the viewer into his world.

David Holmes - David's photorealistic paintings focus on the changing urban landscape. His meticulously rendered scenes showcase the neighborhood landmarks that give San Francisco much of it's character and charm. These amazing works astound viewers with their detail and vibrancy, and truly must be seen to be appreciated. (Review)

Mary Proenza - Mary's cityscapes are crisp and keenly observed. Her work is, in fact, executed from observation and involves returning to each site many times. Mary's paintings carry a directness that is seductive. In them, you see a delight in the complexities of the the city around us and in the "poetic" potential of the painted surface.
